Since her adolescent days, Koena was fascinated by movies. She wanted to be an actress and soon realised that to be recognised one has to win a contest. Koena Mitra began modelling and won the Supermodel title of Gladrags Mega Model Contest and later on went on to become the semi-finalist of Miss Intercontinental. Koena Mitra has trained with Mamata Shankar ballet troupe for 12 years. This dusky beauty has done innumerable music videos and commercials. Her moves have always been impressive and this reflects in the way she handles herself in front of the camera. Koena first appeared on the 70 mm screen in a Tamil film, Dhool with actor Vikram in the title song. This stint got Koena, her first Bollywood movie in the form of Road.

The movie did well at the box office, and she got multicast roles. After doing 3 movies back to back she got her first solo heroine role apposite Fardeen Khan in the movie Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena. The movie was a hit at the box office and Koena has since then sizzled on the screen with her sensual performances and has made the whole of India go foot tapping whenever she comes in front of the camera. With a no nonsense attitude this Bengali Bombshell is one of the most sensational dancers and an attractive actress in the Hindi film industry today.
